Tully is an earnest examination of life on a Nebraska farm whose owner is desperately trying to hang onto his land for his two sons. Both young men are in their 20's, one quiet and obedient, the other charismatic but rebellious. Their mother's loss casts a long shadow over this trio and the young woman who comes to symbolize the sons’ inarticulate longings does so with quiet strength. This is a thoughtful independent film that conveys the authentic feel of farm life until a melodramatic climax sinks its good intentions.

If you're a card-carrying member of 4-H or FFA, or ever lived on a farm yourself, you could do a lot worse than this one.
